Native Species Day

Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland is celebrating Pennsylvania Native Species Day! 2024 date to be determined. Please check back!

Herpetologists (scientists who study reptiles and amphibians) from the PA Fish & Boat Commission and local universities will display a variety of live snakes, turtles, salamanders, and frogs that they are studying in the field—all native to PA! They’ll be stationed throughout the zoo from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM to answer questions, share their knowledge of native herpetofauna, and discuss the dangers of non-native introduced species.

In addition to live specimens, each station may feature shed skins, rattles, shells, models, and educational information. If you’re interested in learning more about the reptiles and amphibians you might encounter in Pennsylvania, don’t miss this event!

While you’re here, make sure to grab a bite to eat from local food truck The Big Chee!

Tickets aren't available at this time - Check Back For Future Dates

Please keep checking back to see when the next Native Species Day will be held. Subscribe to our newsletter for reminders about this and other reptile-tastic events!
