Komodo dragons are the world’s largest lizards and live on only a few remote islands in the Lessor Sundas of Indonesia. These endangered predators are renowned for bold hunting techniques and can kill pigs, deer, and even water buffalo!
Reptiland is part of the Komodo Dragon Species Survival Plan (SSP), a program dedicated to the conservation of these giant lizards. As a participant of the SSP, captive reproduction is the goal. We don’t have any dragon babies yet, but we’re working on it!
Al, our adult male Aldabra tortoise also reside in the Island Giants building together with some younger males and females. Witness one of them eating a piece of fruit, and you’ll be sure to fall in love.
Better yet, feed them yourself with our Meet & Feed the Gentle Giants experience!
