Explore the zoo . . . after dark!
October 18 & 19, 2019 from 6:00-9:00 pm
Many of our animals become active at night. Take a peek at their “secret” after-hours activities with a special safari through our Exhibit Gallery with only a flashlight to guide you!
See lots of critters in action including mambas, cobras, pythons, and rattlesnakes, along with aquatic turtles, poisonous dart frogs, tree monitors, and crocodilians. Get an up-close look at Madagascar hissing cockroaches, a tarantula, emperor scorpion, and boa constrictor. You can even touch some of these animals!
Live Shows at 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00
Take in a show featuring a great horned owl, Norway rat, scorpion, kinkajou, rattlesnake, and more!
You’ll be amazed by the efficiency of most nocturnal animals. Snakes, for example, are among the most efficient nocturnal predators even though they have poor eyesight. Their excellent sense of smell aids in detecting and tracking prey. Snakes smell with their tongue and some even have heat-sensing organs on either side of their heads to detect the distance and location of prey!
Learn all this and more with our nocturnal shows at 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00 in the Program Center.
No flashlights needed here—experience Dinosaurs Come to Life lit with torches and spotlights! Trek through this prehistoric path to see the impressive Tyrannosaurus rex as well as Stegosaurus, Triceratops, and more!
Experience the zoo like never before! Enjoy boo-tiful surroundings with creatively carved jack-o-lanterns, torchlit paths, and more. Visit the activity tent to strike a pose in our festive photo booth and get crafty with a special activity!
Doors open at 5:30pm, and don’t forget to bring a flashlight!
