Area Atrractions

Little League Museum

The Little League Museum highlights the world’s largest youth sporting organization. This two-level hands-on facility features batting and pitching cages with video replay and a 60-foot timed running track. Also included are artifacts from Little League’s history and highlights from championship games.

Historic Williamsport Trolley

Enjoy a delightful ride through Williamsport’s areas of interest, featuring Millionaire’s Row. Complete with a taped narration, you will travel along and see the impressive mansions built by the lumber barons of days gone by.

Hiawatha Riverboat

All aboard the Hiawatha for a leisurely 1-hour cruise on the Susquehanna River. Tales of the river when lumbering was king highlight this breathtaking scenic cruise. Special cruises throughout the season include Family Nights, Sunday Brunches, Dinner and Sunset Concert Cruises.

Knoebels Amusement Park

America’s largest free admission amusement park, Knoebels boasts 50 rides including exciting thrill rides, wooden roller coasters, a kiddie area, and giant pool with waterslides. The park also offers a variety of camping options with two campgrounds. Voted America’s best park for families by the National Historical Amusement Park Association.

Piper Aviation

Home to an ever-increasing collection of photographs, archives, memorabilia, aircraft, and equipment, you can “Fly” in the new simulator and see one of the two Piper Super Cruisers that flew around the world in 1947.

Penn's Cave

America’s only all-water cavern and wildlife park – a favorite since 1885. Go on a guided motorboat tour through limestone passageways onto Lake Nittany, and check out the Farm, Nature, and Wildlife tour spanning 1,000 acres of Penn’s Cave fields and forests.

Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine TOur

Tour a real anthracite coal mine in open coal cars pulled by a battery-operated mine motor. Also take a scenic ride on an old-fashioned steam locomotive around the Mahanoy Mountain. Both tours are guided.

Shaver's Creek Center

See live birds-of-prey, native reptiles, and amphibians. Shaver’s Creek also offers fun shows, festivals, exhibits, programs, picnicking, bird watching, gardens, and trails. Events include the Maple Harvest Festival in March, Harrier 5k run in September, and Children’s Halloween Trail in October.

Lake Tobias Wildlife Park

Encounter the exotic as you roam among the many wildlife habitats to see giraffes, tigers, zebras, baboons, ostriches, gibbons, kangaroos, lions, and much more. Then, ride a Safari Tour and make memories as you hand-feed wildlife such as bison, water buffalo, yak, eland, and watusi strolling right next to you. Plus, kid's love the hands-on experiences at the Baby Animal Exhibits, Reptiles and Exotics, and the Petting Zoo.

Thomas T. Taber Museum

The Taber Museum chronicles the history of northcentral Pennsylvania, from American Indian occupation through 21st century industry and life. Exhibits include an American Indian gallery, a Fine and Decorative Arts gallery, the Shempp Model Train exhibit with over 300 toy trains, period rooms depicting life from the 1700s through the 1900s, and much more.
